1 December – World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
2 December – National Pollution Control Day
The National Pollution Control Day is celebrated every year on 2 nd of December in India in order to give the honor and memorialize the thousands of human beings who had lost their existence because of the Bhopal gas calamity.
2 December – International Day for the Abolition of Slavery
The focus of this day is on eradicating contemporary forms of slavery, such as trafficking in persons, sexual exploitation, the worst forms of child labour, forced marriage, and the forced recruitment of children for use in armed conflict.
3 December – World Day of the Handicapped
The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
Navy Day in India is celebrated on 4 December every year to recognize the achievements and role of the Indian Navy to the country. 4 December was chosen as on that day in 1971, during Operation Trident, the Indian Navy sank four Pakistani vessels including PNS Khaibar, killing hundreds of Pakistani Navy personnel.
5 December – International Volunteer Day

10 December – Human Rights Day
The day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This day is observed to protect the fundamental human rights of all people and their basic human freedom.
11 December – International Mountain Day
International Mountain Day is celebrated annually on 11 December to to create awareness about the importance of mountains to life, to highlight the opportunities and constraints in mountain development, and to build alliances that will bring positive change to mountain peoples and environments around the world.
14 December – National Energy Conservation Day
The goal with energy conservation techniques is to reduce demand, protect and replenish supplies, develop and use alternative energy sources, and to clean up the damage from the prior energy processes.
15 December – International Tea Day
The goal of the day is to promote and foster collective actions to implement activities in favour of the sustainable production and consumption of tea and raise awareness of its importance in fighting hunger and poverty.
16 December – Vijay Diwas
Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 16 December in India to remember the martyrs, their sacrifices and to strengthen the role of armed forces for the cause of the nation.
18 December – Minorities Rights Day in India
To preserve and promote the rights of minority communities in India. This day focuses on the issues like the safety of minorities in the state. On this day several campaigns, seminars, and events are conducted to inform and educate people about them.
18 December – International Migrants Day
On 18 December 1990, the General Assembly adopted a resolution on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
19 December – Goa’s Liberation Day
The Goa Liberation Day is celebrated in commemoration of the Indian armed forces freeing Goa from Portuguese rule.

20 December – International Human Solidarity Day
A day to encourage debate on the ways to promote solidarity for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals including poverty eradication; a day of action to encourage new initiatives for poverty eradication.
22 December – National Mathematics Day
National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 December annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of the famous mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. He had made remarkable contributions in various fields of mathematics and its branches.

23 December – Kisan Diwas or Farmer’s Day
To commemorate the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. On this day various events, seminars, functions, and competitions are organised on agriculture and its importance to educate and provide knowledge to the people.
24 December – National Consumer Rights Day
To highlight the importance of the consumer movement and the need to make every consumer more aware of their rights and responsibilities. The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 had received the assent of the president on this day.

Good Governance Day was established in 2014 to honor Prime Minister Vajpayee by fostering awareness among the Indian people of accountability in government.
