Due to the global coronavirus pandemic situation, the VIVO IPL 2020 edition had been postponed earlier. On 2 August 2020, it was announced that the tournament would be played between 19 September and 10 November 2020 in the United Arab Emirates. On 10 August 2020, the Indian government gave its permission for the tournament to take place in the UAE.

On 4 August 2020, VIVO pulled out as the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for this year’s edition.On 18 August, Fantasy cricket league platform Dream11 has been named title sponsors rights with the bid of ₹222 crore for IPL 2020.

It has been more than a week since all Indian Premier League (IPL) teams landed in UAE. The 13th edition of the IPL is scheduled to begin from September 19 with the final set to be played on November 10.

UPDATE: Playoff Schedule Out, Qualifier 1 will be held in Dubai on 5th November followed by the Eliminator (6th November) and Qualifier 2 (8th November) in Abu Dhabi. The final will be held on 10th November in Dubai.

The thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League will be played from 19 September to 9 November 2020. The auction for the IPL 2020 teams & squads took place on 19 December 2019 in Kolkata. There were a total of 73 slots to fill, less than last year editions. 29 of these 72 slots were reserved for foreign players.
